EDX
* in collaboration with #HelveticNerds

Over the past few years, EDX a.k.a. Maurizio Colella has made a name for himself in the international EDM scene, headlining the world’s finest clubs and festivals with crowds in excess of 60,000 – from Miami to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, São Paolo, Rio de Janeiro, Seoul, Taipei, all the way to Sydney. The chart topping Switzerland-based DJ/Producer has worked with some of the biggest names in music including Axwell, Benny Benassi, Kelis, Deadmau5, Armand Van Helden, Bob Sinclar, Kool & The Gang, Kaskade, Armin Van Buuren, Steve Angello of the Swedish House Mafia, Dubfire, Avicii, Calvin Harris and many others. His remixes have been consistently featured on various DJ charts such as the DMC Buzz, Cool Cuts, and Beatport. EDX was even ranked in the TOP 3 of Beatport’s Best Progressive House Artists alongside Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz. In 2014 he was top selling Beatport artist overall at #8 and #2 in Deep House.

His involvement in the music industry began at an early age, but his steady output of masterful productions and exceptional performances have made EDX an exemplary success story. Back in 2011, he launched his weekly radio show ‘No Xcuses’ on SIRIUS XM’s Electric Area Channel, and that year, he spent the summer holding a residency at the world’s number one nightclub – Space, Ibiza.

EDX has continued his success into 2012 with the release of his debut album, ‘On The Edge.’ He has spent 2 years working tirelessly to create this 14-track magnum opus featuring some of the most incredible vocalists in the genre; including platinum selling artist Nadia Ali, Sarah McLeod, Tamra Keenan, Hadley, Sam Obernik, John Williams and Jerique. ‘On The Edge’ has already resulted in the hit single, “Give It Up For Love” featuring John Williams, and the anthem, “This Is Your Life” with Nadia Ali. With ‘On The Edge,’ EDX’s musical vision finally came to fruition, yet he still aspires to evolve as an artist and further his already prolific career.

In 2013, EDX has manifested new dimensions in his productions without diminishing the strong connection to his roots. On some of his own originals and remixes, as well as his collaborations with Leventina, he produced a fresh, clubby style fit for the new age of dance music, gaining support from some of the most esteemed artists in the industry: David Guetta, Afrojack, and Avicii, among many others. While EDX explored new sonic frontiers, he pleased new and old fans alike by revitalizing the timeless EDX signature sound on songs such as "Sunset Miracles"(Spinnin´), "Touched"(Toolroom), and "Blessed"(Toolroom).

With his chart-topping deep house single, “Reckless Ardor,” driving his already strong momentum into 2014, EDX continued evolving his melody-rich sound as he experimented with the groovier side of house music, just before many others followed in his path. After releasing more instant classic deep house productions like “Cool You Off,” “Breathin’,” his Collateral Effects EP, and a London Grammar remix, among others, his experimentation seems to have swiftly transformed into the next auspicious era of his career, which has brought him a coveted Las Vegas residency at LiFE Nightclub, his on-going Progression of Sound U.S. Takeover Tour, successful No Xcuses events around the globe, and more.

Just as he began 2014, EDX finished it off on a high note, taking over Brazil on his first international leg of his Progression of Sound Tour, while gaining recognition as the 2nd best selling/charting Beatport deep house artist, as well as a top 10 best selling and chart ranking artist overall. Now as he moves forward in the new year, it’s clear that EDX remains as a prominent, influential force in dance music to be reckoned with.
